One we come brining in the dreams of our hearts
All We come to the good song bringing in the instrument of our voice
One We come to the good word bringing in the eager listening spirit of our mind.
All We come to the good prayer bringing in the challenge of joys of our days.
One We come to the good church bringing the legacy of our forebears.
Prayer of Approach

We come to the good news, and God brings us to the moment to be still, be held and be bold.
Prayer: God of the tiny seed and speck of dust and of the great big sky, this day we say yes! Yes and thanks for all the places you are present in the world, in us and in creation, from you creative energy in the spring flowers to beauty of the fall leaves. For the power that moves the ocean tides, to the mystery that rises in spiders to weave their webs again and again. Thank you for the feeling that moves through our heart, for the hope that all things will be well. Thank you, God, who is part of everything, and bigger than all things. Amen
In the light of today’s Gospel, I will be taking up sewing so I can get the Camel through the eye of the needle. Fun historic point there is a gate in Jerusalem called the “eye of the needle”, through which a camel could not pass unless it stooped down and had all its baggage first removed. After dark, when the main gates were closed, travelers and merchants would have to use this smaller gate. People would have known what Jesus was refereeing to. This is a hard gospel to hear especially on thanks giving Sunday.
One of the joys of the teaching of Jesus is how we understand them. We can read this literally in which case I am doomed as I have a lot.
In the light of the historic context of the eye of the needle reference we see that from this gospel we are reminded to not be arrogant or prideful of what we have. although I have committed the sin of pridefulness, vanity, um maybe gluttony with a side of sloth. Thank goodness that with God all things are possible so there is a wee hope for people like me.)
But to be humble and thankful, to share what we have. To share what we have beyond our physical resources but the wisdom, life experience, compassion, understanding kindness.
It reminds us of that like the camel with all of its goods, we at times in our lives need to shed all that we carry all our burdens and come humbly before God knowing that we God all things are possible and ask God, for strength.
There is a Jan Arden song called “Good mother” The verse goes.
I've got money in my pocket, I like the color of my hair.
I've got a friend who loves me, Got a house, I've got a car.
I've got a good mother, and her voice is what keeps me here.
Feet on ground, Heart in hand, Facing forward, Be your self.
I've never wanted anything. No I've, I've never wanted anything,
It is a song for me at least that calls me to be humble in reflecting on how I am gifted. How God has provided in my life. Why worry about the How will I? What will I? Where should I? When will I? Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?
Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
With the Lord all things are possible Therefore do not worry This is what keeps us grounded. The Lord Will Provide. I know this. This it is not a belief but a knowing.
I’m not a wealthy person. The only six digit thing about my bank account is my pin number and yet I am, you are we are very wealthy.
We Very privileged. Yet when you strip away all the things, all the many possessions. When we have to humbly move through the eye of the needle. What we are left with Is that we are loved. And honestly who can ask for more. To love and be loved.
It’s Thanksgiving Sunday.
Beyond today beyond tomorrow everyday may we greet each morning and say thank you God. May each day be a blessing to God a reflection of love we know. You see, We, I,
I've got money in my pocket, I like the color of my hair.
I've got a friends who loves me,
I’ve Got a house, I've got a car.
I've have had, and have a good family, of my blood and brought into my live. I have all of you, my family and your voices are what keeps me here Feet on ground, Heart in hand, Facing forward, Being myself.
I've never wanted anything because God is with me. God is with you
God is with us we are loved.
For we are not alone in life in death in life beyond death we are not alone thanks be to God.

Praise and thanksgiving be to you Creator God, source of all that we need. We recall with thanks giving that to you all seasons belong and we thank you for your goodness , the joy and abundance in our lives. Open our hearts so that we may always remember that there can be no thanks without giving no words without deed that are done, Teach us lord to be humble in all that we claim. To always be mindful of those that need to know that they are loved and accepted. To hold in our hearts those that mourn, those who struggle with illness. May we in following your Son, create a community that takes in all those that need to know that they belong. With thankful hearts we bring our own prayers to you. (private prayer) All glory laud and honour be to you O God for we know that in your time and in your way our prayers shall be heard. We offer you the great prayer which you gave us saying…Our Father.
